Most roll-up tonneaus can be installed and be fully functional in combination with the rack. All tie-down tabs and baseplates are machined deburred to prevent any abrasion or cutting of your rope or webbing.Īdditional to these features, the rack was also designed with the intent of clearing tonneau covers. The base plates which mount the rack to the truck each have a welded tie-down tab to accept either hooks, rope or webbing to control any large cargo you may haul. The side bars safely clear the RamBoxes when they are open, while keeping any cargo such as a Rooftop Tent as low as we can to maintain a healthy center of gravity and to keep cargo accessible. The front of the rack has a CNC formed contour to avoid blocking the third brake light (CHMSL), while tying the two sides together. This allows for full-height items to be loaded into the truck such as dirt bikes, and adds the utility that when a tall and bulky item is loaded into the bed, it can be surrounded by the crossbars to add stability to the item. The unique design of the rack and load-bearing crossbars allows the rack to be broken down for shipping or storage, and for the crossbars to be moved to any location along the length of the rack, or completely removed. This rack is everything you want it to be when you need a rack, and is completely out of the way when you need open bed space. But I was able to get it on with a bit of muscle work. This rack has been designed specifically to provide a well thought out bed rack for the RamBox equipped Ram chassis that is both versatile and accommodating of the great features that the RamBoxes and Cargo Management give us. I used the 5mm height spacer and it was difficult to get the leg covers back on due to the tight space between the bottom of the Pioneer tray and top of the Rambox. Lastly, a Pioneer height spacer of 10mm is needed. So a more narrow platform and larger height spacer would allow the Rambox to open fully or near fully.Īnyway, I now have a useable and good looking bed rack platform for my tent and other stuff. But I was able to get it on with a bit of muscle work. Lastly, a Pioneer height spacer of 10mm is needed (edit: go for the 25mm spacers QMHD25. A more narrow tray option of 52” wide would be ideal. Second, the Pioneer tray at 56” is a bit wider than I wanted as it does interfere slightly with the full opening of the Rambox, but they open plenty enough to access them. It did require grinding the width of track nuts down by 1/16” to fit into the utility track, which was easy enough, and you can find smaller track nuts if needed. “In bed” rack using a Pioneer tray (52x56), RLT600 legs, and Pioneer height spacers.įirst, the legs fit great onto to the top of the trucks OEM utility track. I just finished the install of Rhinorack Pioneer platform to create a custom bed rack.Ģ020 Rebel with Rambox and the OEM bed utility track system. I’ll upload pics later but wanted to share this with the group.
