The major is open to all student types – traditional students who are new first-year, transfers, returning, nontraditional, and non-degree completers who have 90 credits. Building upon the idea of a liberal education, students will engage in the examination of “big questions.” The goal is to help students develop intellectual and practical skills that define critical thinkers and life-long learners. Students learn to apply interdisciplinary knowledge and methods. Courses are from various academic departments throughout the University. It is an interdisciplinary major with studies in the language arts, natural sciences, mathematics, social sciences, humanities, applied disciplines, visual arts, and performing arts.
